skin treatments

The harsh truth is that the elixir of youth is a myth. However, by looking after our skin, we can dramatically improve our health and appearance

Our skin is continually exposed to UVA/UVB rays and pollutants from the atmosphere. Further damage to the skin comes from smoking, chronic dehydration, our urban lifestyles, the presence of free radicals from our diets and of course, the ageing process of time itself.

These all contribute to the slowing down of our skin's natural repair mechanisms. Ultimately, the balance between the growth of healthy new cells and the sloughing away of old, damaged cells is lost. Additionally, collagen and elastin that provide the youthful firmness of skin begin to break down and are not replaced, causing the skin to lose it's resilience. This results in fine lines, wrinkles and sagging. Daily exposure to UV light can also cause uneven colouring known as hyperpigmentation.
